Andrew Galley
Andrew (Blue) joined the RAN in 1967 and paid of in 1987.
He joined the submarine service in 1976 after having spent
6 years on HMAS Melbourne. He served on HMAS Ovens until
1983 at which time he was made Warrant Officer and after
12 months inboard at HMAS Platypus he was posted to DSMR
in Canberra. Blue has been involved with the SAA ACT Branch
since its inception in 1991 and has been President since
August 2004.

SAA ACT Branch Secretary
Geoff (Fred) Burns
Geoff (Fred) joined the RAN in Jan 1967 and paid off in July
1991, he joined submarines in Jan 1976. He served on HMASM's
Oxley, Orion, Onslow, Ovens and Otway. He was posted to DSMR
in 1987and the New Submarine Project in 1989. Geoff was a
foundation member of the ACT Branch and has been an active
committee member ever since.

Edward (Rev's) Barend
Edward joined the Royal Australian Navy in 1977 and
commenced his submarine service in 1979. His sea posting
included HMAS Melbourne, HMAS Perth, HMAS Orion and HMAS
Ovens. Edward left the RAN after 10 years of service to
pursue a career in finance. He has been the
Treasurer of the SAA ACT Branch for the past 2 years.

Peter Dechaineux AM. LFAIPM. FIEAust.
Peter joined the Royal Australian Navy as a Cadet
Midshipman in 1953, subsequently specialising in
Engineering. His seagoing appointments included
engineering duties in HMA Ships Tobruk, Melbourne,
Vampire, Duchess and Perth; and in 1985 he was
posted in command of the Royal Australian Naval College
at Jervis Bay. He retired in the rank of Commodore in
1993. Peter is the major sponsorship coordinator for
SUBCON 2008

Peter Hugonnet AM
Peter joined the Royal Australian Navy in 1954. His
seagoing appointments included engineering duties in
Melbourne,Sydney,Walrus,Oxley and Yarra. He retired as
a Captain 1n 1987. He was subsequently employed in
Defence as the Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE) Manager during
the COLLINS construction program and as the Delivery
Manager for the Fast Track Submarines Dechaineux and
Sheean and finally Rankin. He retired to his farm at
Bungendore in June 2007.
